What are Board Cameras

Many movies show people video taping important plans or evidence using hidden cameras. It may be a little exaggerated when it comes to movies, but you can be rest assured that such technology exists in today’s world, and unlike previous times, it is easily available to the common man, for whatever purpose he may use it for.

Although initially used by government agencies and detective agencies, these ‘spy cams’ are now a days being used by people in their houses as well as shops and offices to ensure that nothing out of the ordinary happens. Households tend to use these cameras for monitoring their children or a maid while they are away or otherwise. These cameras can provide visual evidence for any theft and so are quite important in bringing a person to justice.

Board cameras are essentially a lens and a circuit board, which can be either pre-installed, in mini cameras for instance, or can be sold just like that giving the buyer the freedom to install it based on his choice. The lens of these cameras is essentially a pin hole or a full opened lens. Pin hole lens, as the name suggests, have a very small opening, and are primarily used in spy cameras. These lenses generally have a short focal length, thus giving a wide view, so that a lot of area can be recorded easily.

These cameras may lack features such as zoom etc, but they are cost effective gadgets which can be connected by cable, or wirelessly, to record for long periods of time.
